I am taking paxil and my concentration is completely blown.. and I am experiencing sleepiness and weight gain. Would adderall counter these effects? Yes I know what at least one of you will say– talk to your doctor– and I certainly will… but i wanted some feedback from other patients because my doctors suggestions don’t always work out. that’s the benefit to the online comunity.

Is there clinical help to treat unwanted Xanax dependency that doesn’t treat a person as a drug abuse patient?
My wife has been prescribed Xanax for 12 years to alleviate the symptoms for panic/anxiety disorder. She has been admitted to the hospital in the past as dosages were increased to the point of lethargy, confusion, coordination difficulties and other injurious side effects. At the hospital she suffered a terrifying crash that ultimately resulted with medical advice to continue the drugs.
The use of the herb St. Johns’s Wort, Sam-e, vitamin C, B-complex, Omega3, Gingko, CoQ10 and other supplements have helped with her efforts to get off Paxil and cut her dose of Xanax to a minimum over time.
She has improved her health and is determined to cope with life without the drug that has caused more harm than good. There are clinics for drug abuse but they are not geared for a true unwanted medical dependency.
If anyone reading this has a good resource online or in the Lakeland/Tampa Bay area please post it.

what is bipolar depression exactly?
My dad recently passed away and I went to a psychiatrist who said I had bipolar depression. I had been on Paxil but couldn’t sleep when I was on it and I still had anxiety…. So I went into this terrible cycle of not taking it-so I could sleep and then slowly plummeting into deep depression, so I would start taking Paxil again–then I would get sick of not being able to sleep-so I would go back off of it.I don’t have any mania at all, but I do get anxiety (it hasn’t been a life-long thing–just since my dad got sick and died).. Anyhow, my doctor said I was bipolar depressed… which is odd b/c I do not have any manic days. She put me on depakote and it is working okay but I still miss my Paxil… Anyhow, when I was upset and said, “I dont think I am bipolar..” she said that I had it all wrong– i wasn’t bipolar manic, …I am bipolar depressed. Anyone else have thoughts about this? All the info I seem to come up w/online is that bipolar depressed is the same thing as bipolar manic/bipolar disorder. But she was adamant that they aren’t the same…I do feel better taking depakote, I can sleep better but I do still get anxiety. She said that the SSRIs were causing me to get too much seratonin and that is what keeps me up & gives me anxiety .

I wasn’t this way before but a few bad experiences have turned me into a very angry person and it’s scares me sometimes. And now with all the anti-immigrant things you here on the news I think that there’s some kind of conspiracy, I know I have mental problems and I’m taking meds for it that my doctor gave me. I start counseling next week. What could be wrong with me? I get into arguments online with people who hate immigrants and I feel like im gonna explode but then I calm my self down. I have white friends and I don’t hate them but some people make me so angry and my biggest fear is that it could progress and god forbid a few years down the road I do something crazy like those shooters I see on the news that go postal and stuff. I wish I knew why I’m so depressed and angry at society 
They put me on seroquel and paxil but sometimes id rather drink vodka than take pills. Do you I have schizophrenia or something? I’m 30 and I still live with my mom and she worries alot about me
