I’ve tried Paxil, Paxil CR, Lexapro, Zoloft, Effexor, Lorazapam, Alprazopam, and other “azopam’s” for my social anxiety, but nothing seems to “calm” me. Then I came across this natural supplement online called “Seredyn” that’s suppose to help with social phobia and you don’t need a prescription… has anyone tried this or heard of someone who has?? Thanks for any advice!!

2 weeks ago, in the wake of feeling down from the death of my close Uncle, fights with my online “pen pals”, and general malaise and disappointment for the past 2 years, I took it upon myself to see a Doctor.
I feel like I made a mistake. Instead of going to a therapist first, I went to a psychiatrist. She immediately prescribed 2 weeks of Paroxetine (Paxil) (10mg) and Buspirone HCL (Buspar) (5mg) for depression and anxiety. She recommended seeing a therapist as well, whom I am meeting with soon.
I am 22. I’ve consulted a Priest. I’ve read “self help” books. I will go see the Therapist. But I feel that being on the pills, the Paxil more than anything, is preventing me from being a “normal” 22 year old male.
Any of you out there of a similar age going through or have gone through a similar phase?
I do not want to be on drugs for the rest of my life. What should I do?
I did fine when I was in counseling provided by my university from 2005 – 2006.
I went through a bad “break up”, graduation, moving home, finding a job, leaving that job for a new one, the loss of a family member, and letting people take advantage of me.
So, I don’t think drugs can solve those situations. I do think therapy is the way…
But what do you all think?
Paxil and Adderall?
I am taking paxil and my concentration is completely blown.. and I am experiencing sleepiness and weight gain. Would adderall counter these effects? Yes I know what at least one of you will say– talk to your doctor– and I certainly will… but i wanted some feedback from other patients because my doctors suggestions don’t always work out. that’s the benefit to the online comunity.

My dad recently passed away and I went to a psychiatrist who said I had bipolar depression. I had been on Paxil but couldn’t sleep when I was on it and I still had anxiety…. So I went into this terrible cycle of not taking it-so I could sleep and then slowly plummeting into deep depression, so I would start taking Paxil again–then I would get sick of not being able to sleep-so I would go back off of it.
I don’t have any mania at all, but I do get anxiety (it hasn’t been a life-long thing–just since my dad got sick and died).. Anyhow, my doctor said I was bipolar depressed… which is odd b/c I do not have any manic days.
She put me on depakote and it is working okay but I still miss my Paxil… Anyhow, when I was upset and said, “I dont think I am bipolar..” she said that I had it all wrong– i wasn’t bipolar manic, …I am bipolar depressed. Anyone else have thoughts about this? All the info I seem to come up w/online is that bipolar depressed is the same thing as bipolar manic/bipolar disorder. But she was adamant that they aren’t the same…
I do feel better taking depakote, I can sleep better but I do still get anxiety. She said that the SSRIs were causing me to get too much seratonin and that is what keeps me up & gives me anxiety .
okay, baba.. I guess I should have backed up a bit. I had been on Paxil for awhile for just basic depression for about 8 yrs and I could take it or leave it, before my dad got real sick (he was real sick like 3 yrs ago and died 1 yr ago)… Anyhow, I always HAD done fine on Paxil until 3 yrs ago (2 yrs before his death) –when he was really sick, I was so worried and anxious… That is when I started the VERY bad roller coaster of going on and off of paxil–waiting until I got so depressed I couldnt get out of bed before taking it and taking it a few wks until I felt better but couldn’t sleep..
I forgot to also tell you guys she put me on lunesta too–to sleep. she put me on another medication–(mirtazapine)–it made me a zombie and have horrible nightmares…and i got off of that.
Also, Clover.. I think you are right. I think I understand it all from what you typed. Any more thoughts, I would love to hear from any of you guys… Clover, I think you really made sense of it to me though– the anxiety and insomnia are the mania??
So that psychiatrist did NOT put me on paxil..i had already been on it. She put me on Depakote, lunesta, and remeron (mirtazapine)—and I discontinued using remeron…

Sexual side effects, Paxil and pregnancy?
My boyfriend has been on 20mg of Paxil for depression for about a year– he can’t have an orgasm while taking it. I mean he has never had one… I guess they prescribe this pill for premature ejaculation– but it basically shuts off ejaculation completely. Is it possible for me to get pregnant if we have sex without a condom? A gut impulse tells me to leave it on because there is what I guess is called “pre-cum” on the tip of his penis… but from what I read online, there is no semen in that lubricating liquid? I wasn’t this way before but a few bad experiences have turned me into a very angry person and it’s scares me sometimes. And now with all the anti-immigrant things you here on the news I think that there’s some kind of conspiracy, I know I have mental problems and I’m taking meds for it that my doctor gave me. I start counseling next week. What could be wrong with me? I get into arguments online with people who hate immigrants and I feel like im gonna explode but then I calm my self down. I have white friends and I don’t hate them but some people make me so angry and my biggest fear is that it could progress and god forbid a few years down the road I do something crazy like those shooters I see on the news that go postal and stuff. I wish I knew why I’m so depressed and angry at society 
They put me on seroquel and paxil but sometimes id rather drink vodka than take pills. Do you I have schizophrenia or something? I’m 30 and I still live with my mom and she worries alot about me
Wellbutrin long term risks and effects?
Trying to find online any info on this topic and cannot seem to locate what I’m looking for. I’ve been on Wellbutrin XL for going on 3 years now after weight gain on Paxil. I’m just concerned about overall long term effect.
